Joe Dodoo was the hero for Rangers on Saturday, as his brace resulted in a 2-1 win over Partick Thistle.
Rangers forward Joe Dodoo has told The Scottish Sun that he doesn’t want to be the club’s supersub after his cameo performance against Partick Thistle on Saturday afternoon.
The Gers travelled to Firhill in search of another three points having beaten Dundee 1-0 in their previous game, but looked set for defeat when Kris Doolan gave the hosts the lead in the second half.

However, substitute Dodoo had other ideas. He equalised with a stunning finish, slamming a volley into the corner from Kenny Miller’s chipped pass, before his low shot beat Thorsten Stuckmann for an injury-time winner.
Whilst Dodoo had scored in the League Cup, those goals were his first for Rangers in the league, and he will now be desperate to kick on having played a bit-part role in his first few months at Ibrox.

The Ghanaian, 21, joined Rangers over the summer after his Leicester City contract expired, with manager Mark Warburton seemingly seeing huge potential in the pacey attacker, who can play out wide or up front.
Dodoo showed what he can do with two fine goals on Saturday, and his speed brings something different to the Rangers attack, particularly when they’re chasing a goal, as they were against Partick.

After Saturday’s game, Dodoo spoke to The Scottish Sun, and admitted it’s important that he doesn’t become known as Rangers’ supersub, as he wants to impress on a more regular basis.
Dodoo added that he has been waiting for his chance to shine, and manager Warburton has been telling him to be patient and continue to work hard.
“It’s important for me not to be seen as supersub because it can become a regular thing,” said Dodoo. “To come on and make an impact, you sometimes have to take your chance, and I did. The manager has told me to just be patient and keep working,” he added.
