Rangers defender Declan John is in a fortunate position.

Glasgow Rangers defender Declan John says he feels he is in an extraordinary position to be able to learn from both Ryan Giggs and Steven Gerrard.
John is learning under manager Gerrard for Rangers, and for Giggs for Wales.
It puts the Rangers full-back in a unique position to pick up tips from two of the greatest players of the past two decades in British football.

John told Rangers’ official website: “The two of them were massive players who played at the highest level for both club and country.
“If I can take tips from both of them then it is only going to improve me as a player.”
Speaking specifically about Rangers boss Gerrard, he added: “He had an amazing career and was a top-class player.”

John was Rangers’ first choice left-back last season but faces added competition from new signing Jon Flanagan, who will compete for both full-back positions.
The added competition will help Rangers out, and ensure John is pushed to the peak of his powers.
That with the combination of working with two bona fide football legends sets him up nicely for success, and anything other than improvement will be seen as a disappointment.
