Rangers winger Daniel Candeias has reacted to his side’s excellent 4-1 win over St. Johnstone on Twitter by labelling the result as a “great performance” – and Gers fans have reacted in joyous mood.

The 29-year-old started his eighth Scottish Premiership match in a row as he continues to form one third of a venomous attacking midfield trio behind the league’s top scorer in Alfredo Morelos.

Goals from James Tavernier, Josh Windass, Sean Goss and Morelos secured an easy win for Graeme Murty’s men at McDiarmid Park on Tuesday night, as they close the gap at the top to just six points.

Summer signing Candeias, who was substituted in the 62nd minute and replaced by Jason Cummings, reacted on Twitter as the Gers finally find some rhythm with four successive league wins under their belt.

The Portuguese winger has been in excellent form despite a slow start to life in Scotland, with five goals and nine assists in his 34 league and cup appearances this season.

However, Candeias has just over a year remaining on his current Ibrox deal which expires in May 2019, and Rangers fans reacted to his Tweet by urging the former Metz winger to sign a new deal with the Glasgow giants.
