Hill scored Glasgow Rangers’ only goal during their draw with Ross County.
Rangers defender Clint Hill has admitted to RangersTV (via club’s official website) that he is pleased to have broken something of an unwanted record in the Gers’ most recent game.
Hill’s fantastic header gave Mark Warburton’s men the lead in their clash with Ross County on Sunday and saw the 38-year-old take Lee Bullen’s record as the oldest goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership.

And while he insisted that the fact that Ross County went on to equalise somewhat overshadowed the landmark, he conceded that he was proud to make the record his own.
“It is a great achievement, I am happy to be here at 38-years-old and playing for Rangers and I’m happy to score but not quite happy with the score,” he told RangersTV (via club’s official website).

“I definitely didn’t think I’d still be scoring goals at this age when I first started out, I think when you first start you just hope to get to 21 and get a pro contract.
“When you get to 35 you’re happy that you’ve had a good career and anything over that is a bonus and it’s turned out that way for me.”
David Weir is Rangers’ oldest goalscorer ever
Though Warburton will be pleased to see Hill making an impact going forward, he will also be relatively happy with the form that the former Queens Park Rangers man is showing defensively.
Although Hill lost Andrew Davies at the corner that saw the Staggies equalise at the weekend, his form has predominantly been promising and suggests that he still has plenty to offer at Ibrox.
But while he will be focusing on his defensive duties in the coming months, he will surely have one eye on the current record that David Weir boasts of being the club’s oldest goalscorer in any competition.
