Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is committed to the Ibrox club, according to The Daily Record.

It has been reported that Morelos is aware that a move to Lille this summer might not happen, and that the Colombia international is fully focused on the task at hand at Rangers.

Lille want to sign the 24-year-old, but the French club’s bids for the striker have been turned down by Rangers, according to the report, which has added that they are set to sign Jonathan David from Gent for £27 million.

Although the Ligue 1 outfit still want another striker, they are not expected to pay what Rangers want, despite having earlier agreed personal terms with Morelos, according to the report.

Positive news for Rangers fans

Morelos’s reported U-turn over his stance on his future is great news for Rangers fans.

The Colombian is arguably the best striker in manager Steven Gerrard’s squad, and him staying at Ibrox will enhance the Gers’ chances of beating bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic to the Scottish Premiership title this season.

If Morelos stays, then Rangers manager Steven Gerrard will have four quality strikers to choose from.
