Newcastle United midfielder Joe Willock and Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips have responded to Aaron Ramsdale’s post on Instagram after the goalkeeper completed his move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal from Sheffield United.
What’s the story?
Arsenal announced the signing of Ramsdale from United last night.
The Blades stated on their Instagram page that although they did not initially want to sell the 23-year-old goalkeeper this summer, they simply could not turn down the Gunners’ “head-turning bid”.
According to Goal, the Gunners have paid the Yorkshire club an initial transfer fee of £24 million.
Reaction
Willock joined Newcastle from Arsenal in the summer transfer window, and the midfielder has congratulated Ramsdale on his transfer to the Gunners.

Leeds midfielder Phillips is also happy for Ramsdale.
The two players were part of the England squad that reached the Euro 2020 final this summer.
Good signing for Arsenal?
Ramsdale is a very good goalkeeper who can play out from the back and has already got experience of playing regularly in the Premier League.

Bernd Leno is the first-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal at the moment, but you can be certain that right from day one Ramsdale will push him and will do his best to dislodge him from the starting lineup.
