In the best match of the season so far, Arsenal got torn up on the counter-attack by Manchester United, losing 1-3. How did their players do?

Goalkeeper: Petr Cech – 4/10
Had little protection but didn’t cover himself in glory on any of the goals.
Centre-back: Laurent Koscielny – 3/10
A shocking square pass that gave the ball away for Manchester United’s opener. Recovered slightly but got absolutely destroyed by Paul Pogba for United’s third goal and should have been sent off later on. A hideous defrocking for the Arsenal captain.
Centre-back: Shkodran Mustafi – 3/10
Pressed into a horrific mistake by Lingard and injured himself trying to cover.

Centre-back: Nacho Monreal – 5/10
Positionally negligent for Valenca’s goal. Collapsed so narrow. A supreme block on the line to stop Martial scoring however and played well as emergency centre-back for Arsenal.
Right wing-back: Héctor Bellerin – 5/10
Ran an awful lot but didn’t do much with the ball.
Central midfield: Aaron Ramsey- 8/10
Tried some nice passes. Constantly looking to break United down. Wonderful run and (intentional) pass for Lacazette’s goal. Blazed it over in stoppage time. Needed just a goal for Arsenal to bump up his rating.

Defensive midfield: Granit Xhaka – 7/10
Defensively he was found wanting, but with the ball at his feet he constantly moved the ball into quality positions. Created 2 chances and completing 95% of his passes, but got hauled off after 70 minutes.
Left wing-back: Sead Kolasinac – 5/10
Arsenal’s big man kept the game alive with an enormous block to stop Lukaku converting Pogba’s cross and making it 0-3. Offered good width but didn’t use the ball well nor defend his flank, winning just 1/4 tackles.
Inside forward: Mesut Ozil – 6/10
Wasn’t at his dominant best as the pace of the game saw it pass him by. But still played some nice passes that were key to several Arsenal attacks. Put it on a plate for Ramsey in stoppage time.

Inside forward: Alexis Sanchez- 8/10
A hurricane of movement and intensity. Was Arsenal’s biggest threat and always a problem when he had the ball. His pass created Lacazette’s goal and reignited the game.
Striker: Alexandre Lacazette – 7/10
Wasted a GOLDEN chance to get a goal back; was too hesitant when 1v1 with David De Gea. Had other chances in the first half but was similarly hesitant. Began the second in emphatic form, blasting Arsenal back into things.

Sub: Alex Iwobi – 6/10
Came off the bench for an injured Mustafi after 15 minutes. Was a driving force all game long.
Sub: Danny Welbeck – n/a
Came on for Xhaka after 70 minutes. Added little.
Sub: Olivier Giroud – n/a
Came on for Kolasinac after 76 minutes. Added nothing.
