Ramon Vega says Spurs should refund fans’ tickets after 2-1 loss against Villa

Tottenham are on the back foot in the race for the Europa League after last night’s 2-1 home loss to Aston Villa.

The game could well be Harry Kane’s last ever home game as a Spurs player and he was subdued throughout.

The match also saw the return of fans but they were charged £60 for a ticket and sat as far away from the pitch as possible.

That will only deepen the fractures between the supporters and the board which have been laid bare by the European Super League debacle.

Former Spurs defender Ramon Vega took to Twitter after the game to call out the club.

He feels that the fans should be refunded or given a credit for a game next season after the result.

£60 is a ridiculous price at the end of a season when supporters have been unable to watch their club.

Burnley gave their fans free tickets and Spurs missed the opportunity to generate a small amount of goodwill at a time when they really need it.

Spurs are slipping back to mid-table mediocrity. But far worse than that is the way the fans are being treated.

No wonder they stayed behind after the game to show their discontent.

Vega is right, refunding the fans is the least the club can do in the circumstances.

Spurs may now finish in the European Conference League, the reward for coming seventh. Arsenal and Everton could also still qualify, while West Ham look to have sealed the Europa League spot for coming sixth.
