Ramiro Funes Mori seems ready for a return to Premier League action for Everton.

Ramiro Funes Mori has told Everton’s official website that he is ready for Saturday’s visit of Brighton & Hove Albion if Sam Allardyce wants to use him.

The Argentine centre-back played in Monday’s Under-23 win over Swansea City for what was his first competitive outing in a year following a knee injury.

His return to first-team matters could be perfectly timed after Ashley Williams’s shocker in the defeat at Burnley this past weekend.

Williams, who was sent off, will miss the visit of the Seagulls through suspension, but the 27-year-old has said that he is more than willing to step into central defence this weekend if needed.

He told Everton’s website: “I’ve been training good these past weeks.

“Even though I wasn’t playing for the first team, I’ve been playing for the Under-23s to get the rhythm, get the tempo. I’m 100 percent fit to play and I’m ready for Saturday.”

Funes Mori, a £9.5 million signing in 2015, certainly has the talent to be a massive player for the Toffees over the coming weeks and months and you wonder whether he can help shore up Allardyce’s defence.

The Goodison Park side have shipped 19 goals in their last nine Premier League outings, and Funes Mori’s return can only be a good thing in that regard.
