Chelsea’s players took to social media after a vital 2-0 win over Porto.
Chelsea ensured qualification to the Champions League knockout stages with an assured performance on Wednesday night, beating Jose Mourinho’s old side Porto 2-0 to seal progression out of the group.
Considering the west London side’s poor start to the season – they sit 14th in the Premier League table – a win was by no means guaranteed on Wednesday night.
But the Blues pulled out all the stops, with Willian, Kurt Zouma and Nemanja Matic in particular impressing against their Portuguese opponents.
As such, Chelsea’s players were full of celebration on Twitter. Ramires, for one, took to social media and posted a selfie with striker Diego Costa.
Also tweeting were defenders Zouma and Cesar Azpilicueta:
Chelsea fans will no doubt relish the opportunity to now focus solely on the Premier League, at the same time having ensured they’ve made the next round of the Champions League.
Up next for the Blues, though, is a trip to high-flying Leicester City. It could present the perfect chance for Claudio Ranieri to beat his former club.
If Mourinho’s men can play like they did against Porto, however, there’s every hope Chelsea’s poor run can finally improve.
