The Southampton manager was was effusive in his praise of the Polish centre-back.

Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhüttl offered high words of praise for Jan Bednarek, when speaking exclusively to the club’s official website, labelling the centre-back as ‘aggressive’ and ‘calm’, suggesting that he has the whole package.
The 22-year-old joined the Saints from Lech Poznan in the summer of 2017, for around £5.7 million (Daily Mail), and he has gone on to make 20 appearances in all competitions for the south coast club.
Bednarek has started every Premier League game since Hasenhüttl arrived at St Mary’s, so it is obvious that the Austrian is a big fan of the Polish ace.
The Southampton boss spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and raved about the 22-year-old’s quality, highlighting how he believes the defender has made a big step forward in his development:

“He is very aggressive in the one-to-one duels at the back, and also with the ball he is calm and has a good view for the surrounding players. He is also loud, giving good tactical advice for the other players, and I think he is a very good package as a centre-back. I think he makes a very big step forward in his development and it is typical for the development of the team.”
Southampton fans will be hoping that Bednarek continues to develop, and one day becomes good enough to finally fill the void left behind by Virgil van Dijk.
That will obviously be easier said than done, but the Polish ace is at least showing signs of drastic improvement over this past month.
