What a wild few days.
On Sunday, we were facing a new landscape in football as 12 clubs confirmed their plans to form a new European Super League.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were all involved, potentially leaving the Premier League in tatters.
The outrage has been unbelievable; fans, pundits and players have all rallied strongly against the plans, calling for a U-turn from all involved.
Owners seemingly saw the chance of a major cash grab, and wanted to drag their famous clubs into a league which goes against the idea of competition.
City joined Chelsea in being one of the first teams to go, confirming that they have started the process of leaving the Super League before it even started.

Their decision in the first place was… bold. City’s owners don’t exactly need more money, and the connection they have built with the east side of Manchester has been fairly strong.
Whether that holds up after this attempt to break away remains to be seen, but it seems that Raheem Sterling isn’t sad to see the Super League collapse.
Sterling took to Twitter last night to post just two words – ‘ok bye’ – in response to teams leaving the plans, with the England international hardly sorry to see the league go.
