Raheem Sterling scored in Manchester City’s draw with Atalanta.

When Raheem Sterling scored after just seven minutes against Atalanta it looked like the Italian side were in for a long night.
But Manchester City could not capitalise on their early lead and were pegged back to draw 1-1.
There were some extenuating circumstances.
Ederson went off with an injury and Claudio Bravo was subsequently sent off. City finished with Kyle Walker in goal, and were fortunate to escape with a point.
Sterling acknowledged the efforts of both City and Atalanta in his message after the game.
Despite ‘only’ managing a draw, City are in a strong position and top the group. They are five points clear at the top over second placed Shakhtar.
Kyle Walker sent a message too after his surprise star turn in goal.
City now prepare to face Liverpool at the weekend, and hope not to have to call on Walker in the same circumstances.
