Sterling described the result as ‘frustrating’, but backed his side to turn the tie around.
Sterling and City face Tottenham next week at The Etihad. Tottenham will have to be at their best to keep a clean sheet again.
City take on Crystal Palace this weekend before next week’s Champions League second leg and manager Pep Guardiola will have to decide carefully how to rotate his side, with Sterling’s involvement one of the big decisions he has.
