Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan has told the official Liverpool website that he is slowly settling into life as a Liverpool player, and has been thankful for his centre-back partner Dejan Lovren for his help during the tour of the United States.
The Estonian – who signed this summer from Augsburg – featured in all three of the Reds games on the other side of the Atlantic alongside Lovren.

Klavan said he is slowly getting used to things, saying: “Everything in this area is going good. My teammates are really, really nice guys, helping me a lot.
“Dejan as well is helping me to settle in on the field in the centre of defence. We have a good [relationship].

“I’m slowly getting used to it. It’s a different style than it was in the Bundesliga, but you adapt to it in training and in the games we played, [though] only one team was from England. But I’m slowly getting there.”
Klavan was initially billed as a player that would act as cover at centre-back but judging by a couple of his performances so far, it seems that he has not moved to Liverpool to simply make up the numbers.
Joel Matip has been another centre-back arrival this summer but was unable to participate in any of the tour matches because of a minor ankle injury he picked up in an earlier pre-season friendly against Wigan Athletic.

One positive is the understanding that Lovren and Klavan seem to have developed already if Matip is unavailable for the opening games of the league campaign.
It will be interesting to see just how much Klavan features this season. If he features a lot, and impresses, then it may prove to be shrewd business.
