The German goalkeeper made his Liverpool debut in the clash with Derby County.

Liverpool defender Ragnar Klavan has praised new goalkeeper Loris Karius in an interview with the Liverpool Echo.
The goalkeeper arrived at Anfield from Mainz this summer as they sought to add serious competition for Simon Mignolet.
The Reds have had to wait to see him in action, though, after he broke his hand in a collision with Dejan Lovren in pre-season.
Tuesday evening saw him finally making his first appearance in the EFL Cup clash with Derby County and he did not disappoint.

It proved to be a happy evening for him as he kept a clean sheet and saw his side record a comfortable 4-0 victory to progress to the next round.
His performance earned positive reviews from fans and pundits alike and now Klavan has offered his assessment of the ‘keeper.
“I knew it already that in the Bundesliga he was a really good keeper,” he told the Liverpool Echo.
“He is good with his feet, he is quick coming out like you saw and he is not afraid to come out for high balls so in my eyes he is a really good keeper.”

It now remains to see which goalkeeper Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp elects to go with moving forward.
It is fair to say Simon Mignolet is not a fan favourite at Anfield with a series of high-profile mistakes having eroded confidence in the Belgian ‘keeper over time.
Klopp has shown faith in him, though, handing him a new five-year deal earlier this year and it will be interesting to see if he sticks with him now he has another viable option available.
