Tottenham Hotspur and Ajax are the first two teams to book their places in the Champions League quarter finals.

Spurs rounded off their 3-0 home win over Borussia Dortmund by beating the Germans 1-0 away from home.

Ajax’s victory over Real Madrid was more spectacular.

The Dutch side were 2-1 down from the first leg and few fancied them to pull off an upset at the Bernabeu against the Champions League holders.

Ajax produced a stunning performance to win 4-1, going through 5-3 on aggregate.

Rafael van der Vaart played for both clubs and he has praised the two teams’ achievements.

This is the first time Tottenham have reached the last eight of the Champions League since Van der Vaart was playing for them, under Harry Redknapp.

It would certainly be fascinating to see Tottenham drawn against Ajax in the quarter-finals, and it’s probably a draw Spurs fans would take, despite the spectacular way the Dutch side knocked out Madrid.
