Rafael van der Vaart hopes Harry Kane to continue at Tottenham

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

Former Tottenham attacking midfielder Rafael van der Vaart says that he hopes Harry Kane to stay at the north London club for a long time.

Kane, 24, has not only established himself as one of the key players for Spurs but also as one of the best strikers in the world at the moment.

He won the Golden boot last season, but it seems he has taken his game to a whole new level altogether in 2017/18. And his impressive form has caught the attention of European champions Real Madrid.

Kane has recently been linked with a move to Madrid in the Spanish press, with reports suggesting that Los Blancos could include three players in exchange for him.

Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has hailed Kane as a complete striker, and it shows how much admiration they have for the England player.

Luka Modric and Gareth Bale are two such players who have moved from Spurs to Madrid in recent years, but van der Vaart doesn’t think Kane will follow their footsteps.

The Dutch midfielder admits that it is hard to reject the chances of playing for Madrid, but Tottenham is a special club for Kane.

“The thing is nobody says no to Real Madrid,” said van der Vaart, as quoted by The Standard.

“But when I see Harry Kane now at Tottenham, the club also want to be bigger and bigger, winning the league, the Champions League, with a new stadium. There is so much to play for.

“I hope he will stay. Real Madrid of course is something special but Spurs are special to him too.”
