Newcastle United will play in the Premier League next season.

Newcastle United have confirmed their promotion back to the Premier League. The 4-1 victory over Preston North End at St. James’ Park on Monday evening ensured Newcastle’s position in the top two of the Championship this season.

The Magpies are one of the biggest clubs of England, and the fans must be delighted with the promotion. Newcastle got relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season, and it is quite an achievement to bounce straight back into the English top flight.

Rafael Benitez must be praised for Newcastle’s achievements this season. The Spanish manager failed to keep the Magpies in the Premier League last season, but he was superb in the Championship.

The Championship is a notoriously tough and competitive domestic league, and Benitez did well to understand its demands rightaway.

The former Liverpool and Chelsea manager knows all about the Premier League, of course, and Newcastle fans would surely love him to remain in charge of the first team next season.

The question is whether Benitez would carry on at St. James’ Park. When asked if he would at Newcastle next season, the Spaniard said, as quoted by The Chronicle: “You never know, that is football. I am really pleased to be here, and really happy and proud for everything we have achieved.

“Hopefully, we can put in the foundations for something that will be a guarantee for the future. What we need is to enjoy today, and after we will see where we are.”
