West Ham are said to be unlikely to keep hold of David Moyes at the end of the season, even though he has sparked an improvement at the London Stadium.
And Newcastle boss Benitez is on their wishlist, with his future at St. James’ Park insecure.
Would Benitez be better off staying put?
By moving to West Ham, Benitez would simply be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire.
West Ham’s fans are having the same frustrations as Newcastle’s, with a lack of investment causing annoyance.
West Ham did spend more than Newcastle in January, but the signings of Joao Mario on loan and Jordan Hugill from Preston North End hardly show great ambition.
And Benitez may be better off staying where he is, as if Newcastle do finally get the takeover they have been waiting for, their potential is vast.
