Newcastle United are said have Liverpool’s Divock Origi on their list of potential signings.

According to a report in The Sun, Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez was left furious when his side missed out on Divock Origi last summer, so the Magpies won’t be wanting to make the same mistake again.

Newcastle reportedly wanted to sign Origi from Liverpool last term, but they were unable to get a deal over the line.

The Chronicle now claim that the Liverpool forward is back on Newcastle’s radar, and the Tynesiders are under pressure to ensure they get the Belgian international at the second attempt.

Newcastle are on the hunt for a new forward, but have found their attempts to find a number nine frustrating so far this summer.

Benitez’s side have already missed out on Alassane Plea, and Newcastle will not want to risk winding up their manager again by missing out on Origi.

The Liverpool forward could be a useful option for Newcastle, if he was to make the move to St. James’ Park, and would be in competition with Ayoze Perez and Dwight Gayle for a first-team place.
