Newcastle United are hoping to keep Rafael Benitez this summer.

Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has told Radio MARCA that he is waiting to hear whether his ‘series of conditions’ have been accepted by the club’s board.
The Magpies beat Leicester City 1-0 last week, clinching three points which may just guarantee that the club are in the Premier League once again next season.
With four defeats in the last 12 games, Newcastle have been in decent form in 2019, spurred on by the club-record signing of Atlanta United’s Miguel Almiron in January.
Whilst Newcastle fans have had plenty to celebrate in 2019, there is still one matter of great concern – Benitez’s future at St James’ Park.
The Spaniard is out of contract this summer, meaning he is free to walk away from the Magpies in just a matter of weeks unless a new deal can be arranged.
Benitez has done a great job with Newcastle over the last three years, but it’s clear that he wants more backing from Mike Ashley in order to take the club forward.

Now, Benitez has admitted that he is in talks with the club about staying, as he is happy with the club, but he has pitched a number of demands to the club in order to stay – and he is waiting to hear whether they have been accepted or not, as they are key to his decision.
“I am in contact with the club and I am waiting for the questions I have proposed to be answered,” said Benitez. “My family is in England, I am delighted here, but a series of conditions must be met,” he added.
