Newcastle United lost 3-0 at home to Watford on Saturday afternoon.
Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has told The Telegraph that he thinks fans may realise that they must stick together rather than worry about players or tactics.
The Magpies went into Saturday’s match with Watford having lost three Premier League games on the bounce, falling to defeat against Burnley, Bournemouth and Manchester United.
Unfortuantely for Benitez, that run is now at four defeats in a row, after he saw his side lose 3-0 at home to Watford, with Will Hughes opening the scoring for the Hornets.

DeAndre Yedlin converted Marvin Zeegelaar’s cross into his own net to make it 2-0 before half time, and Andre Gray hit the third in the second half, latching onto a superb Richarlison ball to score.
This run of form is hugely concerning for Newcastle, as they have now lost four on the bounce, and have only found the net once in that run of form, with Benitez’s men struggling to score goals or keep them out.
Benitez will be hoping for a response against West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday night, and the Spaniard discussed the expectation from fans after Saturday’s final whistle.
Benitez has told The Telegraph that whilst Newcastle fans have been ‘really good’ this season, Saturday’s defeat may just show supporters that it isn’t necessarily about players or tactics, but more about sticking together.
Benitez added that he still thinks Newcastle are in a good position right now, but urged his side to realise that they can’t afford to make even one mistake in the Premier League, as they will be punished.
“I think the fans have been really good all season,” said Benitez. “But maybe, after this, a lot of them will realise it’s not a question of players or what system we play, it is about sticking together because we will have more problems. This is what we have. We have a team of young players and they are working hard. It will be tough, but I still think we are in a good position.”
“If my target for the first half of the season is 20 points and we have 14, we have to be sure we use these next six games to get those points and then try to improve in the second half of the season. We have to learn in the Premier League, that if you make one mistake…” he added.
