Newcastle United won against Watford in the Premier League last weekend.
The Magpies recorded their first Premier League win of the season last weekend, as they got the better of Watford 1-0 at St. James’ Park, thanks to Ayoze Perez’s goal in the 65th minute.
The win against the Hornets means that Newcastle are now 17th in the league table with six points from 11 matches, level on points with 18th-placed Huddersfield Town.
Benitez told The Shields Gazette: “I wasn’t there, but when I spoke to him he said ‘well done, congratulations – thank you’. He congratulated the team and then he congratulated the staff.”
Building on
Newcastle’s performance against Watford last weekend was not exactly great, but the Magpies got the job done and picked up all three points from the encounter.
It is important that Benitez’s side builds on that win and get the better of Bournemouth at home in the Premier League this afternoon.
The Cherries are doing well at the moment and will come to St. James’ Park with confidence.
Newcastle have to step up their game against Eddie Howe’s side and go on the attack right from the start.
