Newcastle United are safe from getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has revealed to The Shields Gazette what club owner Mike Ashley has made of the team’s recent results.

The Magpies have been in good form in recent weeks and have earned some very positive results, including wins against Arsenal, Everton and Southampton.

Benitez’s side are 10th in the Premier League table at the moment with 41 points from 34 matches and are safe from getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

Newcastle manager Benitez has revealed that club owner Ashley is happy with how things are going and with the team’s recent results.

Benitez told The Shields Gazette when asked if Ashley had congratulated him for leading Newcastle to Premier League safety: “We were talking in the past and he was happy, obviously, with everything, so we had the conversation before.”

Going places

Newcastle do not exactly have a great squad, but there are some very good and hard-working players at St. James’ Park, and Benitez has got the best out of team.

It would be a huge success if the Magpies finish in the top half of the Premier League this season, and the fans will hope that Benitez is given funds in the summer transfer window in order to build on that and sign some quality players.
