Newcastle United defender Jamaal Lascelles has been linked with Chelsea.
Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has told the Chronicle that he has recently had a conversation with Jamaal Lascelles, who has informed him that he is very happy at St. James’ Park.
Newcastle captain Lascelles has been linked with a big money move to Chelsea recently.
However, Benitez insists that Lascelles’ head has not been turned by the Premier League side’s interest, and he remains fully committed to Newcastle.

“To be fair I was talking with Jamaal this week because I read a lot of things in the Press. He is quite happy and training well,” Benitez said.
“He is concentrating on playing football and that’s it.”
Lascelles has reportedly caught Chelsea’s eye, after putting in a number of commanding performances for Newcastle.

The 22-year-old already wears the armband for the Magpies, and performs a key role for Rafael Benitez’s side.
Newcastle are believed to be under no pressure to sell in January, as the Tynesiders are determined to return to the Premier League as quickly as possible.
Newcastle are already eight points clear of third placed Huddersfield Town, with their spot in the automatic promotion spaces looking very secure already.
Newcastle are next in action after the international break, when they take on Leeds United looking to make it nine wins in a row.
