Newcastle United have been linked with Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend recently.
Rafael Benitez has hinted in the Daily Express that Newcastle United could have a signing wrapped up in the next few days.
Benitez spoke with Lee Charnley about transfers yesterday morning, and the Spanish boss is hopeful that a deal could be completed in the near future.
Newcastle are known to be looking at a range of targets, as the North East side look to bolster their squad.

And Benitez said: “I was talking with Lee this morning and maybe he will give me a surprise in a few hours or a few days.”
Newcastle are known to have funds to spend, but they are yet to make a signing in the January window.
The Magpies have only loaned out a few of their youngsters, with transfer activity sparse around St. James’ Park so far.

Newcastle are thought to be making moves to sign a number of players, with Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend heavily linked.
The Chronicle suggest that Newcastle are looking to seal a loan deal for Townsend, with a view to making the move permanent next summer.
