Newcastle United are linked with the on-loan Manchester City keeper.

Speaking to The Shields Gazette, Rafael Benitez has refused to be drawn on the speculation linking Newcastle United with a move for Joe Hart.
The 30-year-old is on loan at West Ham United from Manchester City.
Hart has lost his place as West Ham’s first-choice keeper to Adrian under David Moyes and he does not look like winning it back any time soon.

Consequence of his situation in East London, The Mirror reported that Newcastle would be prepared to offer the City man an escape route to St James’s Park.
Moyes himself ruled out the prospect of the Irons cancelling the rest of his season-long loan on Sunday, and the Newcastle manager has refused to confirm or deny the speculation.

“No, we are not talking about names,” he told The Shields Gazette when asked about signing the England keeper. “But it’s very difficult for a team in their position to do a deal with us.”
The Magpies have plenty of goalkeepers but Benitez clearly doesn’t trust Rob Elliot or Karl Darlow, whereas Freddie Woodman, who made his debut in the 3-1 FA Cup win over Luton Town on Saturday, is only 20-year-old and the Spaniard probably doesn’t trust him either, albeit for different reasons.
