Newcastle United came under criticism after a run of 10 Premier League matches without a win.

Newcastle’s players came under serious pressure due to their failure to win any of their first 10 Premier League matches.
There was even speculation that Benitez could lose his job in the papers, when Newcastle were off form.
But Benitez insists that Newcastle’s players were not dented with the mounting criticism in the media.
“The fans are clever. They know we have to stick together, it is the only way,” he said.
“For the players, I don’t think it made a difference. The players don’t read the press; especially the foreign players, they are not reading everything.”

Newcastle managed to win over Watford last weekend, to finally relieve some of the pressure building.
The Magpies managed to get past the challenge of Watford by winning 1-0 at St. James’ Park.
Benitez’s side rode their luck at times, but a flicked header from Ayoze Perez proved the difference between the two sides.
Newcastle are next in action on Saturday, when they take on Bournemouth.
