Paul Scholes has said on The Overlap that Everton boss Rafael Benitez would be the ideal manager for Newcastle United.
The former Manchester United midfielder made the comments while speaking to Newcastle fans among others for The Overlap.
Scholes said on The Overlap: “He would be ideal, wouldn’t he?”
Dream appointment
Newcastle fans absolutely love Benitez.
Well, most of them anyway.
Most Newcastle supporters would love to see the former Chelsea and Liverpool manager back at St. James’ Park.
However, we do not think that it is going to happen – not now anyway.

Benitez was appointed the Everton boss only in the summer.
The Spaniard himself has said that he is not planning to leave the Toffees for Newcastle now.
However, in two or three years’ time, it could happen.
Yes, Benitez has been in the Everton job for a matter of months, but we all know how things work in football.
As for now, Steve Bruce will remain in charge of Newcastle – for the Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur at least.
It will be interesting to see if Newcastle’s new owners, Saudi Arabia’s PIF, sack Bruce and bring in a replacement.
