Newcastle United winger Kenedy has struggled for game time in recent weeks.

Rafael Benitez the head coach

Rafael Benitez has suggested in the Daily Mail that Kenedy will stick around at Newcastle United until the end of the season.

Kenedy has been linked with a move away from St. James’ Park in recent times, with Newcastle thought to be considering terminating his move.

But Benitez has offered hope to the Brazilian, who has fallen out of favour recently.

“He can compete for a position, yes,” Benitez said. “I want to see the Kenedy we signed and did really well in the second part of the league. Hopefully he can do well.”

If Kenedy’s loan was terminated it would free Newcastle up to bring in another domestic based player on a temporary basis.

Kenedy was recently excluded from Newcastle’s match day squad for their trip to Watford.

However, the winger could come back into the Magpies’ team tonight, if Benitez’s latest comments are anything to go by.

And it seems that Newcastle will keep Kenedy around, in the hope that he he can turn his form around and get back to his best.
