Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez may not be at St. James’ Park next season, unless he signs a new contract.

Newcastle were beaten 3-2 by Liverpool in their last outing, when they put in an impressive performance.
The Magpies were a match for title chasing Liverpool for much of the contest at St. James’ Park.
However, Benitez claims that things could have been even better for Newcastle if they had more strength in depth.
“Atsu played really well [for us]. Maybe we need a couple of players [on the bench] because sometimes you need fresh legs on the pitch to make a difference,” he said.

Benitez’s comments are another clear indicator that he wants to make signings at Newcastle this summer.
The Magpies may well want to strengthen their attack in the upcoming transfer window, if Benitez is looking for players who can make impact off the bench.
Benitez’s future at St. James’ Park is far from certain right now, with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.
The Spanish boss wants assurances over transfers before committing his future to Newcastle.
