Newcastle United take on Brighton & Hove Albion in a huge match at the top of the Championship.
Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has confirmed to the Shields Gazette that Daryl Murphy will be in his squad tonight, for their match against Brighton & Hove Albion.
Murphy has found appearances hard to come by at Newcastle in recent weeks, and he has not featured in any of Benitez’s side’s last three matches.
Murphy was not even in Newcastle’s squad for their matches against Norwich City and Aston Villa earlier this month.
However, with Dwight Gayle out injured tonight, Benitez has confirmed that Murphy will be in his 18-man match day squad.

“He’s in the squad, so we will see,” the Spanish boss said when asked whether Murphy would start for Newcastle against Brighton.
Murphy has scored two goals in nine Championship appearances for Newcastle this season, and is battling with Aleksandar Mitrovic for a place in Benitez’s first-team tonight.
Newcastle’s match against Brighton is arguably their biggest of the season so far, as both sides have a chance to strengthen their bids for promotion with a victory.
Newcastle are currently one point behind league leaders Brighton, and have a five point cushion inside the automatic promotion spaces.
