Newcastle United have signed five players this summer so far.
Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez has told The Chronicle that he and the club are “working very hard” to sign players.
Benitez has brought five new faces to St James’s Park this summer, including the permanent signing of Christian Atsu.

But Newcastle continue to be linked with other players, amid speculation about moves for goalkeeper Adrian and strikers Joselu and Lucas Perez.
The feeling is that the Magpies, at the moment, haven’t done enough in the transfer window to enjoy a successful return to the Premier League.
But Benitez has reassured fans that he is working to bolster the squad further.
“More players will leave and hopefully we can bring more in too,” he told The Chronicle.
“We are trying to build a squad to compete in the Premier League, and, rest assured, we are working very hard to do so.”
United kick off their season with the visit of Tottenham next weekend and Newcastle fans will hope that at least one more name has been recruited before then – preferably a striker.
Dwight Gayle and Aleksandar Mitrovic are talented, but are either going to score 15 to 20 league goals a season? It’s doubtful and bringing in another marksman should be Benitez’s priority.
