Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Kenedy in the January transfer window.

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez has finally delivered some good news to the fans, but it remains to be seen how effectively they carry out the business.
Benitez has confirmed that Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has given him the green light to sign players this month during a “positive” conference call.

The Spaniard claims that the message was positive, and that the club are working on signing their targets. Newcastle are yet to sign a player in the winter transfer window, but Benitez is positive of bringing in new faces.
One such top target is Chelsea youngster Kenedy, but Benitez has cast doubt on whether the pursuit would end positively, as Chelsea are a bit reluctant to let go of their 21-year-old left-sided player.

“No, we are in contact and we know what the situation is and we have to decide because everything is a little bit difficult,” Benitez said when asked if there had been any progress in the loan deal for Kenedy.
“We are waiting for someone now to give us a little lift. I will not talk about numbers [arriving] because I don’t know how many.”
Newcastle find themselves in 15th place in the Premier League table, only three points above the drop zone. The Magpies will face leaders Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
