Rafa Mir’s reported short-sightedness not good for his Wolves career

Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster Rafa Mir reportedly wants to stay on loan at Las Palmas next season.

According to El Gol Digital, Rafa Mir wants Wolverhampton Wanderers to let him stay on loan at Las Palmas next season so that he can face Valencia.

Mir joined Premier League club Wolves from La Liga outfit Valencia in January 2018 for a transfer fee reported by The Mirror to be worth £2 million.

The 21-year-old forward joined Las Palmas on loan in the Segunda Division from the Wanderers in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported by El Gol Digital, Mir will press for Wolves to let him play for Las Palmas on loan next season so that he can face his parent club Valencia and show them what they are missing.

Las Palmas are fifth in the Segunda Division at the moment with 18 points from 10 matches, just four points behind leaders Malaga.

Risky desire

While it is encouraging that Mir (reportedly) wants to show Valencia what they are missing, perhaps spending two successive seasons away from Wolves would not be a good idea for him.

After all, Wolves are not going to wait for him and could well sign another forward next summer.

The Spain Under-21 international is doing well in the Segunda Division in Spain, and the forward should aim to return to Wolves next summer and break into Nuno’s first team.
