The Spain U21s striker has switched from Molineux to The City Ground on loan.

Rafa Mir of Spain looks on prior to the 2019 UEFA Under 21 qualifier match between Spain U21 and Albania U21 at Nuevo Arcangel Stadium on September 6, 2018 in Cordoba, Spain.

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Rafa Mir has taken to Twitter with a message for Nottingham Forest’s fanbase following his loan switch from Molineux to the City Ground on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old forward joined Wolves from Spanish side Valencia in January 2018 but has featured just four times for the Premier League club.

Things went a little better for Mir at international level recently as he helped Spain win the European Under-21 Championship this summer.

Mir spent last campaign on loan at Spanish second division side Las Palmas, scoring seven times in 30 appearances as the Canarians finished 12th in the standings.

He links up with Sabri Lamouchi’s Reds ahead of their Championship opener against none other than Wolves’ bitter rivals West Bromwich Albion.

Here is what Mir wrote on Twitter and what some fans of Forest and Wolves said in response on social media:

Mir played under Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo at Valencia, where he made eight appearances, including in the Champions League, Europa League and La Liga.
