Newcastle United should consider making a move for Portugal’s Renato Sanches.

Renato Sanches played a huge role in Portugal’s Euro 2016 win, but after that his move to Bayern Munich didn’t work out accordingly.

The highly talented Portuguese midfielder has made only six starts in Bundesliga this season, and Bayern Munich reportedly can sell him this summer.

According to the reports from the German newspaper Bild, Bayern would demand £30 million for the 19-year-old midfielder.

Sanches has a contract with Bayern till 2021, and the Bavarians may not be willing to sell him permanently. The report adds that Sanches could be available on loan.

If that is the scenario, Newcastle United should make a move to sign the youngster, albeit temporarily. Though to be realistic, without European football, Sanches will not fancy moving to a newly promoted team permanently.

However, he may consider joining the Magpies on a season long loan for regular game time, something he may struggle to get at any other top Premier League club at the moment.

At his age, playing regularly would boost his confidence. Furthermore, playing under a great manager like Rafa Benitez, a Champions League winner with Liverpool, could be a tempting prospect for him.

Newcastle will get a player of immense potential and quality, someone who would walk into the first team straightaway.

If Newcastle can sign him it will represent a real statement of intent from the club. However, it would require an outstanding piece of negotiation from the Magpies to convince him moving to Tyneside, and who better can do it than Rafa!
