The Magpies moved into second in the Championship with a 2-0 win over Derby County.
Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has told the Chronicle that his team can still improve how they attack in general.
The Magpies continued their fine form on Saturday afternoon as they beat Derby County 2-0.
That was their fourth straight win in the league, after they had lost their first two games of the campaign, and it took them to second in the Championship.
It was another impressive performance from the Magpies, who were once again looked like a threat going forward.
Benitez though believes that his team can actually improve in all areas of their play, but specifically how they attack in general.
“You can improve in defence, in the middle and attack,” he told the Chronicle.
“We can improve the way we counter attack and how we attack in general. But I am really pleased with the team and the way they work.”
While Benitez says he wants to see improvement in all areas, it is hard to see where they can do so based on this display.
They were comfortable winners over Nigel Pearson’s side, with Newcastle goalkeeper Matz Sels barely tested throughout the game.
They were also ruthless enough at the other end to take their chances when they came, scoring two goals from three shots on target, and it is difficult to see what kind of improvement Benitez would want from that in the weeks and months ahead.
