Newcastle United are in a very strong position to gain promotion back to the Premier League.

Magpies boss Rafa Benitez spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s impressive 2-1 win at Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday night, and offered a message of thanks to the club’s fans for their fantastic support throughout the entirety of their campaign thus far, as quoted by the Chronicle.
Newcastle now sit at the top of the Championship table once again, with a two point lead over the Seagulls, and an eight point advantage over third paced Huddersfield Town.
But things are not going to get any easier for the Tyneside outfit, with a trip to Yorkshire to take on the Terriers next up on the agenda.
And Newcastle will need the Toon Army to be right behind them in what will surely be another incredibly tough away fixture.
Benitez spoke to the media about the Magpies’ famous travelling support, and emphasised how important they are to their hopes of promotion to the Premier League this season, as quoted by the Chronicle:

“I enjoyed the win with them and said thank you to them. Our fans are amazing. When you play away you can see how behind the team they are. These type of games are more difficult because you are losing but they still pushed and helped the team. I’m really pleased because this kind of game means you have to travel far away. They came away with the belief in the team. So it’s really good for us and them to come back with smiles on their faces.”
Despite a few bumps along the road, Newcastle have been very impressive this season, especially in how they have bounced back from disappointing results.
And with the strength in depth that Rafa has at his disposal, there is no reason why they should not run away with he Championship title now.
