Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has explained to the Shields Gazette why DeAndre Yedlin was the perfect fit for his side.

The American has made the move in search of first-team football after being made aware that was not on offer at Tottenham Hotspur.
And Benitez has explained that Yedlin’s ability in attack makes him the perfect fit for his side.
“Yedlin was the perfect fit, because he is someone who can attack,” he told the Shields Gazette.
“He has pace, and it was very similar [to Daryl Janmaat]. He was really pleased to come, and that is very important.”
Sunderland’s DeAndre Yedlin
It will make for interesting viewing to see what role Yedlin has to play in Newcastle’s side.
With the Magpies also signing Jesus Gamez from Atletico Madrid this summer there is fierce competition for that right-back spot.
Indeed, given Benitez’s comments on his attacking ability and the lack of right wingers in the current squad, it would not be surprising to see Yedlin used in that position.
