Newcastle United fans are desperately craving some new signings.

Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez spoke to reporters after his side’s superb win against Manchester City last night, and hinted that there could be further new arrivals at St James’ Park, as quoted by the Chronicle.

Sky Sports are reporting that the Magpies have agreed a £20 million deal to sign Miguel Almiron from Atlanta United, and after yesterday’s fantastic victory, things are starting to look very bright all of a sudden for the Toon.

Newcastle now sit in 14th spot in the Premier League table, five points clear of the drop zone, and if Benitez does bring in at least one more signing to supplement the imminent arrival of the Paraguayan, they will surely enjoy a much improved second half of their campaign.

Rafa spoke to reporters last night, and hinted that further incomings at St James’ Park could be on their way, by suggesting that ‘they’ could be good deals for the club, as quoted by the Chronicle:

“They could be good deals for Newcastle United. If we have good news tomorrow it will be positive.”

The transfer window slams shut tomorrow at 11pm, so Newcastle will have to act fast, if they do in fact want to make any more signings.

Whatever happens, however, there seems to be an entirely different vibe emanating from Tyneside than there was just one week ago.
