Leeds supremo Andrea Radrizzani has sent a two-word message to Liam Cooper after Scotland qualified for EURO 2020 last night with a penalty shootout win over Serbia.

The Leeds chairman wrote ‘Congrats captain’ while including plenty of celebratory emojis.

Cooper spent the evening on the bench, but surely played his part behind the scenes as Scotland reached their first major tournament in 23 years, as the BBC state.

The 29-year-old – who cost Leeds just £600,000 according to the Derbyshire Times – will presumably be feeling ecstatic as he celebrates making history with his country.

While he may have spent the play-off final on the bench last night, Cooper has an excellent chance of appearing against Europe’s best players next summer if he continues to deliver for Leeds.

With summer signing Diego Llorente still missing through injury, the Leeds captain has been able to make five Premier League starts alongside another new face in Robin Koch.

Cooper’s efforts have helped Marcelo Bielsa’s men record wins over Fulham, Sheffield United and Aston Villa, while an impressive 1-1 draw against Manchester City was also earned.

Hopefully, the possibility of starting for his country at EURO 202O will motivate the Leeds captain on to even bigger and better things for the remainder of the campaign.
