Leeds owner stated he wanted a top six finish, but has now sold their top scorer.
Ahead of the Championship season, Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani confidently explained he was expecting nothing less than a top six finish for the club in 2017/18.
He told BBC Sport: “We need to compete at the top of the league and be in the top six. A play-off place is the minimum requirement.”
That would be an improvement on last season – but the Italian may now need to re-adjust his expectations.

This is in light of him agreeing to accept an offer from Burnley for Chris Wood.
Wood scored 27 goals in the Championship for Leeds last season – no other player came close to breaking into double figures.
The bright news is Leeds will have £15 million in the bank to spend, and they have had an unbeaten start to the season.

Yet their two home games have been goalless draws, even with Wood, and the Whites will have to spend the money wisely if they are to land a play-off place.
Radrizzani’s comments sounded like he would be disappointed with new manager Thomas Christiansen if Leeds did not finish in the top six.
But the sale of Wood should push him to re-calibrate his demands and cut the head coach some slack if Leeds fall short, and stick by the Spaniard into next season regardless.
