Say what you like about Fabrizio Romano, but he got one exclusive spot on regarding Leeds United.
A few weeks ago, the Italian journalist revealed on Twitter – as covered by HITC Sport – that Pascal Struijk had agreed a new contract at Elland Road.
Fast forward now and Romano has been proven right.
Earlier today, Leeds confirmed that the Dutch central defender had signed a new deal until the year 2027.
It’s a brilliant piece of news by the Whites, when you consider how influential Struijk has been under Jesse Marsch and Marcelo Bielsa before him.

At 23, the Belgium-born powerhouse is only going to get so much better.
And here’s how Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani reacted to the announcement on Twitter:
This is brilliant news on a financial level and a football one.
Financially, Leeds are heavily protected in the event they get relegated, meaning that they can still fetch major money for the towering defender.
And in terms of football, well now that his future has been resolved it should, in theory, provide more stability within the dressing room, leading to better results and reduced risk of dropping back down into the Championship.
Not that Struijk’s future was causing instability of any kind, but the peace in mind of knowing it’s done will certainly help him on an individual level.
