£7 million signing Patrick Bamford has not been able to make an impression due to injury, like loan addition Izzy Brown.
The other three loan players signed have so far been underwhelming.
Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman can only get a game for the under-23s, and Jack Harrison has flattered to deceive since scoring his first Leeds goal away at Millwall.
It demonstrates that if Leeds are pushing to kick on in January, they should not be hanging their hopes on young loan players.
If Leeds want players who will make an impact, they need to spend, just like Andrea Radrizzani did on Barry Douglas.
That was a remarkably cheap deal for player of his quality, and isn’t necessarily repeatable.
Leeds need to consolidate with another winger and a centre-back. To get the right player Leeds must be prepared to pay, as the loanees just aren’t making enough of an impact.
