Tony Adams has claimed that Arsenal are ‘quite vulnerable’ through their fullback duo, Cedric Soares and Nuno Tavares.

The Highbury legend also told Mikel Arteta to stop playing Ben White at right-back, which he has done a few times with Arsenal this season.

Over the weekend, the Gunners recorded a 3-1 win over Manchester United to move back into fourth spot in the Premier League table.

But it came with its nervy moments, including both fullbacks producing questionable moments, from a defensive standpoint, during the game.

Either way, Adams clearly isn’t a fan of the two players, as he sent this message about the duo, whilst speaking to Premier League Productions.

“This is his best scenario all season,” said Adams. “He needs to stick to the back four. He has done it against Man United, even though I am not a fan of Cedric. He’s gone back to the back four.

On Arteta being without his first choice FB’s: “He is. Okay, what do you do in that situation? Do you tinker around with the system or do you just leave the best that you have got?

“Don’t play Ben White as a right-back. If you think Ben is the best right-sided centre-back, then put him in and get Cedric in the team, which he has done.

“But there are weaknesses in defence. Tavares, in particular, is they are quite vulnerable through those fullbacks. They aren’t our first choice fullbacks.”

It needs to be remembered that both Tavares and Cedric aren’t the first choice at Arsenal, with the regulars out injured.

Kieran Tierney won’t be returning this season, which is a body blow to the Gunners.

But, Takehiro Tomiyasu, did return during the dying moments of their win against Man United, which is positive news for all going forward.

Whilst Arsenal have found their goalscoring touch once more in recent games, they are still producing questionable defensive displays which, at this moment in time, they have got away with.
