Ian Wright has spoken highly about Tottenham Hotspur duo James Maddison and Son Heung-min and how they are a ‘merger of Harry Kane’.
The Arsenal legend labelled Tottenham’s new attacking system under Ange Postecoglou, and the quality around it, as ‘quite scary’.
That was displayed over the weekend when James Maddison scored in back-to-back games, as well as Son Heung-min scoring a hat-trick during their 5-2 win over Burnley, with Wright calling the South Korean star ‘class’, as he told Premier League Productions (04/09/23 at 2:35 pm).
When Harry Kane left for Bayern Munich, the 30-year-old took the goals with him, all 30 of them from last season.
Therefore, it would have been easy for people to think or question how Tottenham would fare without their all-time leading goalscorer.
But, after a month or so of Premier League action, it has been transformative for the London club, with Maddison and Son Heung-min being the stars of the show – Cristian Romero lauded his teammate.

“I think if you look at him (Son) and Maddison together,” said Wright. “It’s almost like a merger of Harry Kane, you know, the way they play.
“Son can go that way (run in behind) and Maddison does the ten. I think he will probably get even more service now from Maddison.
“The run he made for this goal. Burnley’s press was terrible. But that composure. It’s class. You look at Tottenham and their expressive nature. Porro’s pass, it’s beautiful. They are having fun with what they are doing, you can feel it.
“It’s quite scary because, from back to front, they look like they have got quality in every department.”

MaddiSON
Kane and Son produced a record-breaking Premier League partnership, but it’s time to save that into the history books because a new duo are in town.
Without having to settle in or know each other’s game, both Maddison and Son have formed a brilliant relationship out on the pitch.
That’s, not just a credit to their individual qualities, but also to their manager, who has allowed them to play with the handbrakes off and they are now singing and dancing like no other.
