Borna Barisic of Glasgow Rangers has endured a stop-start career at Ibrox thus far.

Steven Gerrard has admitted to The Glasgow Evening Times it is ‘quite frustrating’ that Borna Barisic has endured a stop-start Rangers career so far.
The Croatian defender, who joined Rangers for £2.2 million last summer [Daily Record], hasn’t played a competitive game under Gerrard since December 23 due to injury.
In total, Barisic has only managed 11 starts for the Gers across all competitions after previously missing two months of the season.
The 26-year-old concerned Gerrard last week after going off injured in a friendly against HJK Helsinki, but the Rangers boss reveals that he is fit for Sunday’s trip to Livingston.
“I think it’s 12 games he’s been available for,” he told The Glasgow Evening Times. “From a manager’s point of view that’s quite frustrating as we rate him very highly and when you see him play you can see he’s a quality player.
“I’m keeping my fingers crossed that he’s available from now until the end of the season and that we see his quality on a more consistent basis. It’s quite frustrating when you get him for three or four games and then he’s missing for three weeks. It’s frustrating.”
When fit, Barisic is certainly an asset for Rangers, but one more injury and you wonder whether Gerrard can rely on him.
As the 38-year-old manager said, he’s a quality player when he gets going, but he hasn’t been allowed to build up any momentum and that’s a concern going forward. It’s been one step forward and two back for the Croat, but hopefully he can stay fit from now until the end of the season.
