John McGinn has shared that his Aston Villa teammate, Matty Cash, has been ‘quite chirpy’ ahead of Scotland’s friendly against Poland at Hampden on Thursday night.
The Aston Villa duo will lock horns tonight, as McGinn has shared that Cash told him ‘we will win’ and ‘we are better than you’, as he told Sky Sports Football.
They may well be teammates when repping their Villa colours, but it’s going to be a different story for their respective countries.
Villa’s flying right-back is new to international football after recently switching allegiances to Poland.
Whilst McGinn has been dynamite for Scotland in the middle of the park, as he shared what has been said between himself and Cash ahead of tonight’s match.
“Aye, plenty of (banter),” said McGinn. “He’s quite chirpy. He is saying ‘we will win. And we are better than you’s’.
“No, he’s good. I am happy for hIm. When he found out he could play for Poland, he was desperate to do it.
“And he has been first class for us at Villa, so we have certainly had banter between us.
“But I am sure, he will want to get one over on me and I will certainly want to do the same thing.”

Scotland were due to play Ukraine during tonight’s fixture, with Russia being drawn up against Poland.
But Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has seen the former banned from international football and the latter unable to play, for obvious reasons.
Whilst Scotland still face the dreaded play-offs in order to get to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
They have been outstanding under Steve Clarke, with McGinn being his side’s top goalscorer and perhaps their best player since his appointment.
